About Mayhem

Mayhem Horror Film Festival runs throughout the year at the Broadway Cinema in Nottingham, UK. Our main festival weekend is in late October, with an annual celebration of all things from the darkest edges of genre. As well as the main festival we also run regular screenings throughout the year – special advance previews, archive screenings, cult double bills, midnight movies, masterclasses and more.

Past events have included Mark Gatiss (The League of Gentlemen, Doctor Who, Sherlock) introducing his favourite horror moments; a retrospective with Mike Hodges (Get Carter, Flash Gordon); special interactive art and science weirdness with The Thrill Laboratory, and a series of collaborations with BAFTA - a masterclass with Gareth Edwards (Monsters) on the making of the film, as well as an exclusive preview of the BBC’s Being Human, with the cast and programme makers in attendance.

We’ve also hosted special preview screenings of cult classics Human Centipede, Birdemic: Shock and Terror and Hobo With A Shotgun, as well as a classic remastered giallo double bill of Dario Argento films, Tenebre and Bird With The Crystal Plumage.
